I have been fond of running ever since I joined my school’s cross-country team in 5th Grade. Since then, I have participated in the sport by competing in my middle school and high school’s track and field and cross-country teams. I have been to lots of fun events and competitions. Some of my favorite events include the annual Twilight competition held at Falmouth, the Indoor Track meets at the Reggie Lewis Track in Boston, and the Gobble Wobble 5k held in Southborough every Thanksgiving.
I first began playing piano when my mom took me to piano lessons in second grade. As much as I loved to play, lessons didn’t quite fit my style–piano was supposed to be fun and creative! I began to teach myself with online tutorials and learned some of my favorite songs. I have gotten a lot better since my early years, and I even enjoy playing on my keyboard in my room today! One of the pieces that I’ve learned that I’m most proud of is Dragonborn, the theme song to Skyrim. Currently, I’m trying to learn “Scenes from an Italian Restaurant” by Billy Joel!
Along with running and piano, I’ve always loved to create fun art projects and crafts. At my sending school, Algonquin Regional High School, I took art classes, and I was able to get pretty good at it, too! Right now, I may not be able to make art in art class, but I still enjoy creating fun crafts at home during my free time!
When I’m not running around the town or jazzing up the room with some sweet tunes, I have many fun hobbies that I like to spend my time doing. I’ve gotten pretty good at solving Rubik’s cubes, and I have been able to solve one in under ten seconds! During the pandemic, I enjoyed playing a lot of chess on chess.com, and my rating is currently 1936. Challenge me to play a match! My username is Jaro488 Currently, during my free time, I have been trying to watch every season of Survivor.
