physics

Physics is taught by Mrs. Chase. The intensive class closely follows the AP Physics curriculum where students learn how to use algebra-based and calculus-based strategies to solve problems and make observations about our physical world.

Rocket Problem

This being my first year taking a physics class, there was a lot I needed to learn. I decided to include this assignment because it was when I first felt everything “click”. The physics problem required us to analyze the changing trajectory of a rocket and calculate how far from the starting point it landed. To do the problem, you had to utilize several concepts we learned in kinematics. It was challenging, but after completing it, I felt more confident in my physics skills. I also decided to attempt the calculus version of the problem afterwards as well as a way to improve my calculus skills.

Dynamics Lab

For our second physics unit, we studied dynamics and had to create our own lab assignment to solve. I chose the question, "What is the relationship between the coefficient of static friction and the masses of the hanging and sitting weights in a modified Atwood’s machine?". View my lab report here!
