Quotes From the Cast & Crew

Jenna Charron '22 (She/Her/Hers) - Producer

I had so much fun putting on this show. It's been really exciting to see theatre start moving back to a somewhat normal theatre experience. My favorite part of this experience has been going to calls and watching new elements of the show come together day by day and just in general working on theatre again with everyone. Everyone has put in so much work to make the show come together and I am very excited for the audience to see this work!

Chayanne Sandavol-Wiliams '23 (She/Her/Hers) - Director of 'Camie' Cast

Hi! I am a sophomore Computer Science major, originally hailing from Grandview, MO! That is actually where I am directing this show from! It is so exciting to see VOX and theatre in general come so far to adapt to this "new normal". This show has given us all an opportunity to do theatre again and more live than we have been able to do in the last year. I can't wait for the audience to see all the work that everyone has put in to make this amazing! I know I had a blast working on this show, and I hope the audience really enjoys watching it!

Julianna Ziegler '23 (She/Her/Hers) - Director of 'Jathy' Cast

I loved seeing the actors develop their performances to the amazing show it's become. I'm so excited for the audience to see the two portrayals of the production. My experience has been nothing but positive and I've grown so much as a theater person, I had only a hunch I could direct and now I'm very excited to do it again in the future. My favorite memory is working with Katharine on Summer in Ohio and with Braden on Nobody Needs to Know

Reagan Hajjar '23 (She/Her/Hers) - Actress

I am excited to help bring theatre back to WPI during COVID! I cannot wait for the audience to see what students are capable of, even in the middle of a pandemic. I'm in awe by all of the creativity. I have loved being a member of this production working alongside people who have a true passion for theatre and are really talented at what they do. I'm so glad I got to be "A Part of That".

Katharine Edel '21 (She/Her/Hers) - Actress

Although I've been working on VOX productions since I first came to WPI, this is the first production I've played a non-ensemble role in and I'm so excited for the opportunity! I've loved every part about rehearsing this show with rehearsal exec and the rest of the cast, and I can't wait to see the whole show filmed and edited.

Rositsa Mihaleva '22 (She/Her/Hers) - Music Director

This show has such nice music that I am honored to have been able to help teach along with Ben and hear the actors' beautiful voices and the pit members' fantastic musicianship come together with the help of our dedicated sound squad. I am so excited to be doing live theatre again even if it's in a different form. I am beyond proud and impressed with the resilience of our VOX community - everyone in this production has demonstrated that, despite restrictions, we are strong, innovative, and the same overcommitted theatre lovers who can rise to any challenge. The impromptu discussions we had with actors, crew members, and directorial members alike about the story and symbolism were also so fun!

Justin Moy '22 (He/Him/His) - Production Manager

I'm really excited that we were able to put on a real show despite COVID-19 restrictions. I hope the audience notices the fun color choices that reflect the timeline.

Lia Davis '22 (She/Her/Hers) - Technical Director

Lia has participated in many shows in her more than 10 years of experience. From playing a dog to running lighting, sound, and leading scenic, Lia has experience both on and off the stage. Her favorite part of this show has been getting to know the people in her departments and helping them achieve their best work. Lia is excited for the audience to be amazed by the timeline lanterns. Her favorite memory from this show was sleeping on the bed on stage while the lighting department focused their lights

Luca Ialongo '22 (He/Him/His) - VOX Liaison

I have really enjoyed getting to work on crew calls again! It's been a blast to be able to get to see everyone safely and see all of their hard work cumulate into such a cool show. I am super excited for everyone to see the final product because I think it really shows how much hard work and dedication everyone in VOX has to finding new and creative ways to still put on a musical. My favorite show memory: I named a super bent piece of wood Leroy at a scenic call and took a photo with it.

Ben Gobler '24 (He/Him/His) - Assistant Music Director

I am a math major in WPI's Teacher Prep program. This year, I was the assistant music director of the Audiophiles acapella group. I love the music in The Last Five Years! It has been a pleasure working with the actors in music rehearsals and hearing them sing. We had lots of laughs and discoveries about the lyrics, melodies, and orchestration.

Thomas Piccione '24 (He/Him/His) - Lighting Deisnger

This show was not quite what I expected, but more fun than I could have ever asked for. Lighting for camera is very different than lighting for a normal audience, and I eagerly await the results of that challenge. I cannot say I enjoyed hanging and wiring all the lanterns, but they sure do look good...

Joelynn Petrie '23 (She/Her/Hers) - Scenic Design

I am excited to see the audience's reaction to the lanterns. I put a lot of work into making them so I really hope the audience likes them.

Vincent Folmer '22 (He/Him/His) - Story Board Artist

Working on this show was a great experience especially with all these amazing people. I am mostly excited for the audience just to see how much work it took for the show to run seamlessly as everyone excelled in their jobs here.

Mason Kaye '22 (They/Them/Theirs) - Graphics Designer

I loved designing for a show with such an interesting timeline, as I had a chance to design multiple posters and draw inspiration from multiple elements of the character's lives from the first date to divorce!

Natalie McClain '23 (She/Her/Hers) - Sound Engineer

In spite of the fact that the pit and singing is all pre-recorded it still feels like a real show.

Jacob Morse '21 (He/Him/His) - Co Sound Engineer

I've really enjoyed working with the sound team in making sure the show sounds as good as it possibly can!

Luke Foley '24 (He/Him/His) - Master Carpenter

I have a lot of woodworking experience, but this was my first time doing theatre. I had a lot of fun building bed frames and boats with the scenic team. My favorite memory is my supply runs with Fiona Doyle

Kepei Lei '21 (He/Him/His) - Editor

I am very excited to try to create this middle ground between theatre musical and cinematic! It has been exhausting but a lot of fun! And my best memories are of course when people do random funny stuff in front of the camera!

Nicholas Moy '24 (He/Him/His) - Master Electrician

This is my first time being put in charge of anything within the musical. Overall it's exciting to see my work going from a computer drawing and spreadsheet to an actual stage.

Dilce Oliveira '24 (She/Her/Hers) - Publicity

Being involved with the show has been such a rewarding experience. I loved getting to know the VOX community and watching as everyone worked together to make the show happen. Getting to make new friends and work on the behind-the-scenes of a show was such a wonderful way to end my first year!
