Nicholas G. Chisholm

My research interests center on fluid mechanics and transport phenomena in micro-scale systems and is relevant to a range of industrial and biological processes. In particular, I develop and use mathematical models and simulation to predict and harness the complex behaviors of these systems. I am particularly inspired by biological systems due to their interesting out-of-equilibrium behavior, applications to health and medicine, and potential for engineering biomimetic systems that perform useful functions at extremely small scales. From a technical perspective, my work involves the application of partial differential equations, integral equations, asymptotic methods, and numerical analysis.
