Transport to WPI
By air
WPI is, on a good day, a one-hour drive from Boston's Logan
Airport. Car rental agencies are plentiful at the airport, or
arrange
for a van to pick you up, e.g.
Knight's Airport Limousine
Service.
Count
on one and one-half hours after pick-up for you to arrive here, two
hours
during rush hour. Bus service is a less expensive alternative; see
below. Other nearby commercial airports are in Providence RI,
Hartford CT, and Manchester NH. Ten minutes away is a small but highly
convenient
airport, the Worcester
Regional Airport.
By train
The Massachusetts
Bay Transportation Authority runs a commuter service from Boston's
South Station to Worcester several times a day on the weekends and more
frequently during the week.
Amtrak connects us daily to Rochester, Cleveland,
and Chicago via
the Lakeshore
Limited
line.
By bus
Greyhound and Peter Pan run regular
service between Worcester's bus station at Union Station, 2 Washington
Square, and Boston's South
Station or Logan Airport.
By car
We are located north of the Massachusetts
Turnpike (Interstate 90), 50 miles west of Boston on Interstate 290, which bisects Worcester. If you are heading
northeast
on 290, use Exit 17; traveling southwest, take Exit 18. Driving time
from
New York City is approximately four hours. For GPS navigation
systems, the
effective address for the main entrance to the Park Avenue garage is at
153 Salisbury Street, Worcester MA, next to the First Baptist Church.
