Personal
Traveling + Photography
Something I really enjoy doing is traveling. There is something
special about it where you can leave your normal life behind and
jump into another temporarily. Traveling in new environments gives
me so much appreciation for Planet Earth and different societies.
It also helps me understand how other people live their lives and
what I can learn from new perspectives. Whether I'm traveling or
not, I am always taking photos of things I find beautiful.
Here is a glimpse of some of these moments.
Tae Kwon Do
I have been practicing Tae Kwon Do for over 5 years and I am
currently a 2nd Degree Black Belt. TKD has given me the confidence
that I can defend myself if I am ever in an unsafe situation. It
has also pushed me to my physical limits many times and has only
lead to self-improvement.
Carnatic Music
Music is something that has manifested in my life in a multitude
of ways, one being the South Indian form of music, Carnatic music.
I have been learning Carnatic music since I was 5 years old.
Baking
I find baking as a fun and stress-relieving way to challenge
myself. I love French cuisine, so I enjoy attempting “harder”
recipes like macarons and croissants. Though baking can sometimes
turn into a stressful and compulsive process, the end result is
always worth it.
As a tribute to my love for baking and my habit of exploring new
places, I always look out for a bakery when I travel or visit a
new place. Here are some of my most favorites.
Wholly Cannoli, Worcester
Brauð & co, Reykjavik
Dominique Ansel Bakery, NYC
Bourke Street Bakery, NYC
Madrid European, Providence
Community Service
This year, I volunteered with the Mass Academy Community Service
Club (MACS) at their STEM Saturdays, as well as other events.
Every month, MACS runs a STEM Saturday where MAMS students work
with younger students and expose them to fun and interesting STEM
concepts. In the past, we have run activities like lava lamps,
extracting DNA from strawberries, mirror mazes, and more. I have
also represented MACS with other peers at the Worcester State
University AVANZA! Program. The students here were upper middle
school students. We ran an activity on hydraulics.
In addition to the MACS events, I also volunteered at the STEM
lessons MAMS hosted during STEM Week in October. We ran the
session at the Abby Kelley Foster Charter School. The first
session was on bird beaks and evolution. The second session was on
spool racers.
