About
Hello, my name is Jun Dai. I'm currently an Associate Professor in Department of Computer Science at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). My research lies at the intersection of networks, distributed systems, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity, with recent emphasis on large language model (LLM) security, autonomous agent security, advanced attack detection, vulnerability analysis, secure coding, and cybersecurity education. I earned my PhD degree in Information Sciences and Technology with a specialization in cybersecurity from the Pennsylvania State University (PSU) in 2014, under the mentorship of Prof. Peng Liu. Prior to that, I got my BS degree in Information Security in 2007 and my MS degree in Network Control in 2010, both from University of Science and Technology of China (USTC).
Recruitment
I'm looking for self-motivated students at all levels (undergraduates, master, and PhD). I may have PhD positions with full RA/TA support. Please refer to WPI Current Rates for stipend information (e.g., $3,334.5/month suggested for PhD candidates in Fiscal Year 2024). If you are interested, please email me. Post-doctoral and visiting researchers or students are also welcome.
Prospective students: please include a CV, a transcript, and (if available) a writing/publication sample.
