My Hobbies

Robotics Our robotics team

I have always loved robotics! When I was in 4th grade, I joined a local FLL robotics team and helped take our team to the regional level. In 7th grade, I became part of my school's BEST (Boosting Education in Science and Technology) robotics team. At the beginning of 9th grade, I joined my school's FTC Robotics team called Ghost Robotics, where I did software and wiring, while helping out our administrative, fabrication and cadding subteams. At the beginning of 10th grade, I was promoted to captain of our team and helped our team reach states for the second time in our history. Now that I am in Mass Academy, I have joined the controls subteam of our local FRC Team, team 190, also known as Gompei and the Herd.

Math The HMMT Logo

I have always loved math. In both middle school and high school, I was a part of our local math team, participating in activities like the Math Olympiad, Harvard and MIT Math Tournament (HMMT), MAML, MML, and AMC. This year, I even helped run our school’s own math competition, called WAMT (Westford Academy Math Tournament). I helped write the speed and accuracy round, and I even MC’d at the actual event. Outside of school, I even participate in the Math Kangaroo competition yearly, and even went to a two week long math camp hosted by them in Poland. For fun, in 10th grade, I even decided to self study Calculus BC with a couple of my friends.

Community Service The HMMT Logo

Every year, I do community service by making hats for the needy in my community. For the past 5 years, I have made 210 hats and donated them to my community. This year, my goal is to make another 50 hats, bringing it to a total of 260! In addition to that, I also help out with various outreach opportunites that my local robotics team provides, such as our summer camp, where we provide opportunities for beginner and intermediate robotics education to elementary and middle schoolers in our community.

Kriegsspiel A kriegsspiel piece

One thing that always seemed cool to me as a child was wargaming. I really liked the idea of moving around pieces on a board, especially in a way that seemed more liberating than chess. A couple years ago, I learned about Kriegsspiel, one of the first wargames to ever exist, and my friends and I started playing. However, I noticed that there were no easy to access open source places to play Kriegsspiel, limiting us to either a difficult to use software, having to pay $15 per person, or playing over a board, which would be really difficult. Therefore, I decided to try and learn coding in C# and Unity and create this, my own free software for Kriegsspiel.

Piano The HMMT Logo

I love playing the piano, which I have been doing for 13 years. Recently, I joined the Royal Conservatory of Music, which provides a progression system for people learning music. This progression goes from level 1 to 10. This year, I passed my Level 9 Examination in both the practical and theory section with honors.
