The biohybrid design outlined in the project, "Analysis of the Taxis of E. coli and C. reinhardtii Hybrids" eliminates the need for an electromagnetic field to move a cargo-carrying vehicle. By avoiding mechanical parts and using bio-materials as an “engine” for a drug or therapeutic, biohybrids can be used as safe and efficient nano-vehicles in a drug delivery system that will reduce adverse effects and infusion time of a therapeutic.
