The Consider an idealized Power Plant Layout.

 

 

 

 

 

The efficiency of the Rankine (Vapor Power Cycle) from States 1-2-3-4 was ideally 37.1%

The efficiency of the Rankine cycle from States 1' - 2' - 3 - 4 increased to 41.2%

 

Consider the Electrical Generation Plants in the State (2008) Data

 

We considered a Coal-Fired Powerplant that outputs a net electrical capacity of 1000MW.

This magnitude of electrical capacity required a minimum mass flow rate of 1,047 kg/s using Cycle 1-2-3-4

With a realistic pipe velocity limit of 3 m/s, the required pipe diamenter was 3.2 m (10.5 feet)

Consider the cycle governing the Boiler and Smoke Stack.
