One of my favorite things to do is to read. Especially in the wintertime, there is nothing more I love to do than curling up with a warm blanket, a good book, and a cup of hot cocoa. One of my favorite books is Wonder by RJ Palacio. I won’t give any spoilers but I can promise that it’s a wonderful read!
When not reading, you can usually find me playing soccer. In the past, I have played for the soccer club FC Stars and over the last few years have been lucky enough to be both a player and a coach for Holden Youth Soccer. A friend and I get to coach 3rd and 4th grade girls in soccer and I have learned so much about patience and the importance of a team through coaching. I am also a part of a soccer program called Unified. In this program, players with and without intellectual disabilities get a chance to play soccer together and have lots of fun while doing so!
My greatest love of all would have to be music, whether it be singing, piano, dance, or (my favorite!) theater. In the past, I have been in multiple musical theater productions including performances of Oklahoma! and The Music Man at The Hanover Theater in Worcester. My little sister and I also take lessons in a form of Indian classical dance called bharatnayam. Through music and the arts, I have learned so much about creativity and staying true to yourself. Music has most definitely played a huge part in making me the the person I am today.
Finally, I love to travel. I have been so lucky to grow up in a family that shares the same love for traveling as I do. My family and I always enjoy trying new things and experiencing different cultures, places, and languages. We all are foodies and love to eat new foods. So far, the strangest thing I think we have eaten is a cactus. In the past we have visited Italy, India, Iceland, and Mexico, as well as traveled all over the United States. I have so many places I would love to visit someday and can't wait until I have the chance to travel again. Despite all my travels though, New England remains home.
