US OLYMPIAN TO SPEAK AT J4 CHAMPIONSHIP BANQUET

For the first time Tri State has arranged to have a banquet Saturday night of the event. To pull this off, we recruited a sponsor, Stratton Mountain School. They have arranged for one of their Alumni to speak at the event.

Her name is Carrie Sheinberg. She was on the U.S. National Ski Team from 1991 through 1998. She was the U.S. National Slalom Champion in 1995, and the U.S. National GS Champion in 1997. She represented the U.S. in the 1994 Olympics. She is currently a producer at ESPN.

This is our first attempt at giving the athletes more than just two days of racing, and provide an event that allows them (and their parents) to spend a little time together away from the competition. We selected the site because it offers a local banquet facility as well as overnight accommodations.

The banquet is going to be held at the Eastover Resort and Conference Center, in Lenox, Massachusetts. You can make your room reservations by calling 1-800-822-2386. They can accommodate only up to 300 people for the banquet. With over 100 racers, we anticipate filling the hall. Reservations are on a first-come-first-served basis. There may be a small number of tickets available Saturday at race registration, but there can be no guarantee that space will still be available.

Awards for the Saturday races are going to be presented at the Banquet on Saturday night.

We have attached a reservation sheet for anyone who would like to assure themselves a spot at the banquet. We strongly encourage everyone to take advantage of this reservation method.

PLEASE RECOGNIZE THAT EACH RACE REGISTRATION NEEDS TO GO DIRECTLY TO THE AREA, AND CANNOT BE INCLUDED WITH THE BANQUET RESERVATIONS.

BANQUET RESERVATION FORM

Please note that this form can be used only for the Saturday night banquet reservation, and not the actual races. Registrations for the races must be made by mailing the $37 fee, along with an Alpine Entry From, directly to the race organizers.

This form and payment must be received in the Tri State office by February19th. We have to give the facility a count on the 20^th. If there is still room, we will take a small number of reservations Saturday morning at the race, but we can not guarantee that there will be any spots available after the 19^th.

The price includes the banquet dinner at the Eastover Resort and Conference Center. The facility is not charging for children under 3, so they are free.
