ECSC Nordic Division Individual Standings – 2007

Based on the races held this year, the following scoring is in place for Individual Standings:

-         5 best races count.  This allows each skier to miss one weekend and still not affect their results, or allows racers that compete each weekend to throw out one poor performance.  There are 7 total individual races this season.

-         Must have at least one classical and one skate race (pursuits/skiathlons only count as one race).

-         Each skier get one point for racing and then one point for each skier that they beat (for example, the last place skier gets 1 point, the 2nd to last gets 2 points, and so on).  There is a bonus for the top 3 in each race as follows: 1st place – 5 bonus points, 2nd place – 3 bonus points, 3rd place – 1 bonus point.

This allows each skier to miss, at a minimum, one race weekend and not be taken out of the overall runnings.  Or, athletes who attend all races have the opportunity to discard one or two bad race results.

ECSC Nordic Division Team Standings – 2007

Based on the races held this year, the following scoring is in place for Team Standings:

-         7 best team finishes count.  This allows teams to miss one weekend and still not affect their results, or allows teams that travel each weekend to throw out one poor performance.  There are 9 total counting races this season.

-         Teams will get a point by place for each race (for example, the winning team will have 1 point, the second place team will have 2 points, etc.).  Any team not competing will accumulate points based on the total number of teams in the league plus 1 (for example, if there are a total of 10 men’s teams in the league, they accumulate 11 points for that race).  Obviously, the lower team score is better.

-         The results in the Divisional race will count as two races each (so good team finishes at the Divisional race can help you if you have missed a few races throughout the season).
