The first day, first round of the Auburn Bird Banding project proved very rewarding today. Along with a few Myrtle (Yellow-rumped) Warblers, Yellow Warblers, a Pine Warbler, a Common Yellowthroat, a rare find, a Lawrence's Warbler, graced our nets. This recessive hybrid of a Blue-wing-Gold-wing combination sent people running for their cameras, some as far as Grafton. It was a check mark on the life list for all attendees; no one had seen one of these beautiful birds before. Breathtaking. (photo from Colleen Morin)
