About Me!

Hello! My name is Rachel Bunsick and I am a Junior at Mass Academy. I was born in Coon Rapids, Minnesota and I moved to Shrewsbury MA when I was 2. I attended Shrewsbury High School for my freshman and sophomore years prior to transferring to MAMS. I have 2 older brothers, David and Michael. Michael currently lives in Toronto, Ontario and is working on obtaining his PhD at the University of Toronto. My brother David is currently a senior at Queens University in Kingston, Ontario.

One of my favorite activities is Hockey. I learned to skate when I was 3 years old and have loved it ever since. I currently play for the Shrewsbury High School Girls’ Team, and I play club hockey with the Minuteman Lady Flames. Following the 2021-2022 season, I was chosen as the captain for my senior year! I also love to play volleyball. I began to learn the basics in middle school and joined my first club team in 8th grade. Since then, I have played at 3 different clubs and participated in beach clinics and tournaments. Over the summer, I also traveled to Florida for the AAU Nationals with my most recent team. I currently play for the Varsity team at my sending school, Shrewsbury High School. I am a setter/DS. Additionally, I participate in lacrosse and field hockey. I played field hockey at Oak Middle School and I have played lacrosse since 3rd grade. However, this year I will not be playing because I would like to have the opportunity to explore other extracurricular activities at MAMS.

Other Activites

When I have free time, I love to create art. I really enjoy mixed media and ceramics but am always willing to sit down with a sketchbook and draw. I also enjoy solving puzzles, reading, listening to music, and hanging out with my friends. You can click here to view one of my favorite summer Spotify playlists! Over the summer, had the opportunity to experiment with Arduinos over the summer and I was able to create many different projects. On the right is a video I created that explained the process I went through when creating one of my projects.
