Welcome to Omar's Website!

Scroll down to learn more about me!

Hello! My name is Omar El Nesr, a Massachusetts Academy of Math and Science (MAMS) junior. I was born in Maine and moved to Sturbridge, Massachusetts when I was 3 years old. I then moved to Southborough, MA at age 6. Before MAMS, I attended Algonquin Regional High School in Northborough, where I was involved in Math Team, AI Club, Science Research Club, and Science National Honors Society. In my free time, I enjoy working out, listening to music, playing video games, and hanging out with friends.

In elementary and middle school, I played badminton until I developed two stress fractures in my lower back. After recovering, I transitioned to squash in 8th grade and haven’t looked back. I practice routinely, play in team leagues, and regularly compete in national tournaments. Last year, my club team won second place in the Massachusetts 4.0 league (we lost by only 2 points!), and I went undefeated the entire season. You can view my Clublocker profile and account here.

Beginning last year, I learned the joy of writing poetry (it doesn’t have to be esoteric!), and have been creating them since. I find that it is a very effective way to express the thoughts and emotions that otherwise wouldn’t have any other outlet. I have a Notion page for my favorite poems that you can view here.
