Milosh is Professor of Practice and Associate Department Head in the Department of Fire Protection Engineering, and the Director of the Center for Global Public Safety at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He teaches, collaborates with industry, and leads research projects on fire protection systems including automatic sprinklers; fire hazard analysis; occupant egress; building & fire regulations; and the application of computer fire models.
He serves as a technical expert where the analysis, forensic investigation or customized instruction of fire protection systems is required.
Milosh is a Past President and a Fellow of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE). Milosh served as Assistant Vice President and Standards Council Secretary at the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) overseeing the technical development of all NFPA codes and standards. While at NFPA, Milosh led the development of formalized performance-based design options in NFPA codes and standards facilitating the greater application of engineered solutions for fire safety.
Milosh is a member of a number of NFPA technical committees including those responsible for NFPA 13, Sprinkler Systems; NFPA 20, Fire Pumps; NFPA 99, Health Care Facilities Code; and NFPA 101, Life Safety Code; and is a member of the Underwriter’s Laboratories Fire Council, and Standards Technical Panel on Fire Sprinkler Equipment. Milosh speaks and writes about fire protection issues, served as a consulting engineer, code consultant, and an insurance loss control specialist, and has provided legal testimony. He holds degrees in mechanical and fire protection engineering, and is a registered professional engineer.
