Spanish class emphasizes learning the language through speaking, listening, reading, and writing. This immersion class is centered around games, group projects, and other assignments that allow students to practice and learn the language.
This essay was the first writing assignment of the year. For the assignment, we took photos of four different rooms in our house and used the photos to write descriptions for the things in the room. In my essay, I describe the kitchen, office, a bathroom, and a bedroom in my house.
For this assignment, we were each assigned an artist from a Spanish-speaking country. After researching a little about their lives, we chose three of their pieces of art to describe in as much detail as possible. We presented fully in Spanish in front of the class, practicing using detailed descriptions. My artist was Joan Miró, a painter from Spain.
