Rounding Out His Portfolio
Guido does a quick estimate
of the total dollar amount of checks he has written by adding up only
the whole dollar amounts and then adding to this total a correction of
$.50 per check. Assume he does this with 48 checks. Approximately how
likely is it that the total he obtains is more than $6 off from the
true total?
