In physics class, we cover the AP Physics C Mechanics curriculum, beginning from kinematics. We learn each unit through in-class lectures, labs, and projects. Each unit ends with a quiz and a test to sum up the information. See below for some examples of assignments from this year!

ACCELERATION ON AN INCLINED PLANE LAB

This was the first physics lab of the year, where we measured the velocity and displacement of a vernier cart sliding down an inclined ramp. We tested two different incline degrees. Then, we found a linear correlation between two variables, v^2 and displacement.

MULTI-STEP ROCKET PROBLEM

Over the course of the year, we have had many rocket problems, integrating new information that we learn in class each time. Rocket problems were most commonly seen during our kinematics unit at the start of the year. This specific rocket problem seen here analyzes the velocity, time and many other variables of a rocket taking off, flying, and landing with a parachute. The last section, where the rocket lands with a parachute, was particularly difficult as air resistance needed to be considered when calculating for other variables.
