MAMS students have two options for languages, and I am in Advanced Spanish. We spend time watching films, reading, learning grammar and new vocabulary, and most importantly talking in Spanish. Throughout this year I have felt my confidence and fluency while speaking the language grow.

This was a project to tell some story from your childhood. I chose to write about a time that I visited my family in Mexico City. This was good practice in writing in past tense.

For this project we all had to choose a recipe from a Hispanic country to cook and then present about. I chose sopa de tortilla, also known as tortilla soup, as it is one of my favorite meals. I enjoyed the process of cooking it as I had never done it completely by myself, usually I cook it with my mom. It was also a chance to present and talk in Spanish, and it improved my fluency.
