Hello

My name is Vikhaash Kanagavel Chithra but you can call me Vik. I am currently a junior at the Mass Academy of Math and Science at WPI. Before MAMS, I attended Grafton High School. I was born in India in 2006. My family then moved to the US in 2018. Currently, I live in Grafton with my mom, my dad and my brother who's in 8th grade. To learn more about me scroll down!

Tutoring

Since 8th grade, I have been a tutor on schoolhouse.world. Schoolhouse is an organization that aims to bring free education for all. I have also volunteered on upchieve which is a non profit organization that also aims to bring free education for all but it mainly focuses on-demand help. Tutoring is something I really enjoy and I love sharing my passion and knowledge.

Traveling

Traveling makes me appreciate how amazing our planet is and how we're all connected. When I'm out there exploring new places, trying new foods, and meeting people from different cultures, I grow in ways I never could just staying in my comfort zone. Plus, it's taught me to be flexible and open-minded

Middle School Math Team

In my sophomore year, I had the role of teacher and coach in establishing the Grafton Middle School math team, unifying 20 enthusiastic students. Witnessing their collective dedication reaffirmed my passion for teaching mathematics but also highlighted the importance of teamwork and dedication. I have deep appreciation for the opportunity to guide these young learners.

Community service

During my freshman and sophomore year, I have volunteered at the Grafton Community Harvest project where I have worked on packaging vegetables and harvesting them freshly from their farm. I plan on continuing my work with them this summer.
