The Rundown
Disc 'til Dawn was a 5-2 coed tournament hosted by Wesleyan University in the spring of 2002.  Like we had twice already in the fall, we teamed up with the girls from Smith College.  This tournament had a character all it's own.  At each of the four different fields, there was a different game teams played to win the choice for pull.  There was a wheelbarrow race, bocce ball, taboo, and a ring toss game where the team's prettiest person needed to throw a Hula-Hoop over the head of the team's ugliest player.  Each team was also given a name for the tournament.  Ours was Munchausen Biproxy.  There was also a party held afterwards with food, beverage, and games of bottles and badminton.

Our pool had five teams in it, two teams from Connecticut College, a Wesleyan team, and a Wesleyan alumni team.  Our first game was against Wesleyan, who were known as the Mary K Commandos.  This was a fun game to play, as both teams were played great spirited ultimate.  We were able to pull out the win in the game, but they destroyed us on the cheer, with our pitiful attempt to alter "Maybe it's Maybelene" into something clever.   Next up was the Wesleyan Alumni team, known as Your Sobriety.  This was another fun game to play, and like the last matchup, we won the game but lost the cheer, as our modified alligator cheer crumbled before Your Sobriety managed to rhyme with Munchausen Biproxy.  Our third game was with Connecticut College's A team.  None of us had ever really heard much about Conn. College's ultimate team, but after this game we knew they'd be a tough match in the upcoming college sectionals. They threw a 1-3-3 zone on us all game and completely shut us down as we failed to score a point.  Luckily, the Conn. College teams were as into not cheering as we were, so no cheers were done.  Our last game was with the Connecticut College B team.  By this time in the day it had been raining for a while, and layouts were happening all over the place.  We won the game, and afterwards we played for fun with a few of their players.

Our intense and (unintentional, I swear!) injury-causing play earned us the "Most Dangerous" award at the party.  A fun time was had by all.  Thanks again to the Smith girls for coming out and playing with us... you guys are the best!
