Winter League final results are in. Team Four beat Team
Three in a close game to win the Chumpionship. And no
surprise Team One took the championship taking some big
chances, but earning big rewards. Congratulations to

Week three had the closest games yet.  Team Four
fought Team one (7 fast 7 furious) hard the entire game,
trading points until the last minute.  Team Two's
victory over Team Three was also a very close match,
ending 9-7.
-F.N.
02-02-2007
Week two of the Woo-Town Winter Ultimate League was even
better than week one! Both games were very close. Team
one battled hard for the win against Team 3. Team four
took the win in the second game with a hammer from Cork
to Frisbee Ninja in overtime. Be there next week to
experience the excitement for yourself!

Some Stuff
WEBPAGE!!!
Well I remembered how to do this thing. Practice
schedule and tournaments are updated, going to work on
getting profiles and new pictures up soon.
-Ravi
11-20-05
Some Stuff
Oh yeah, we
have a webpage or something. Since my last update we
have played two tournaments. Lemony Fresh, where we
played pretty well: Lost to Brandeis, Beat Vassar, Lost
to Tufts B. Finished second in that pool and lost first
round of bracket play to BU. We also played at the
Bridgewater tournament last weekend where we played
really well and went 4-3. Practices are now Monday,
Tuesday, Thursday and maybe Friday from 8:30-11:00 on
the turf. That is all for now.
-Ravi
09-19-05
Club Sectionals
We finished
our first tournament today. Club sectionals went good
for a first tournament. The B team went 0-5 and didn't
get to play the second day. The A team went 2-3 on the
whole weekend. We still got a lot of work to do, but it
was fun to get out there and play some competive
ultimate. Back to the turf for next week.
-Ravi
08-29-05
New Roster
Tonight is
the first night of practice, so while I waited for that
I updated the
roster. It should be right assuming that everyone
went up by one year and all the seniors and grads are
gone besides James and Brian. Sorry freshmen, there are
100 of you, you will get added later when we figure out
which ones of you are staying.
-Ravi
08-26-05
New Year
It's that
time again. We are about to start the '05-'06 year of
frisbee and I am gonna hopefully do a beter job of
updating this thing than some unnamed captain of our
team whose name isn't Dave Hickman did last year. I
updated the
practice page and will do more with the page when i
get more info. That's all for now.
-Ravi
03-23-05
- Small stuff
A few small
changes made to some player profiles. We were accepted
to Nor'Easterns (which is this weekend) so the status
now reflects this.
03-21-05
- D Term updates
Made some
small updates to the
tournament listing and
practice schedule. Some players also have some new
pictures in thier profile (and others have pictures now
instead of the place holder picture)
02-24-05
- Compromising pictures
The first
(and only) set of pictures from the 2004-2005 season
have been posted. Feel free to email Matt Brennan with
caption suggestions if you come up with any good ones
02-24-05
- Tournaments and other information
The
tournaments page, practices page, and roster page have
all been updated. At the tournaments page, you can find
what tournaments we have gone to, are going to, and want
to go to. The practices pages has been updated so that
cancelled practices are no longer there. The roster page
now includes profile information for everyone who
submitted their information.
02-03-05
- More Update Goodness
The roster
is now fully updated. Player profiles will be completed
as information is gathered and pictures are scavenged.
You can now suggest new nicknames and blurbs for any of
the players. If you have a good picture for that player,
feel free to suggest it in the blurbs portion. A 'Rules
of Ultimate' section will be added, accessable through
the navagation bar on the left. This section will be a
place where you can reference the 10th edition rules
02-01-05
- Dust-B-Gone
Website
Update!! Because of the collaborative efforts of Dave
Hickman, Matt Brennan, and the sloth-like CCC Helpdesk,
the Bullets website is finally updatable. Now you can
find an updated
practice schedule, new A team
roster, and some player profiles. Later on, expect
to see the B team roster and some new (old but unposted)
pictures.
05-04-04
- End of the Year
03/04 was a
fabulous season for WPI Bullets! The hard work and
dedication shown by every player really demonstrates the
team's graduation to a new level of play.
Congratulations to Dan Brauer for winning the WPI
Callahan Nomination, to Rick Richter for earning Best
Spirit, and to Brian for Most Improved Player! All Hail
next year's captains: Rick Richter and David Hickman!
Good luck to
the graduating seniors -- keep playing ultimate! To the
rest of us still under WPI's thrall: stay in shape and
play lots of summer ultimate!
03-19-04
- D term practices
Back from
Spring Break in Georgia and ready for the Spring Season!
Practices will be held from 10:30pm to midnight MWF on
the turf, replaced/complemented by whatever grass time
becomes available.
02-13-04
- C term practices
Short, cold,
windy, snowy days are what C term is full of, making it
the hardest term by far to keep up on your skills and to
stay in shape. The Bullets, however, are unperturbed,
practicing 5+ times a week wherever they can: the gym,
the indoor track, the Northboro indoor fields...
The motivation? Spring Season! For many, their last
season of college ultimate. And it seems that this may
WPI Ultimate's best season yet! And don't forget spring
break: High Tides II and Terminus are not far away!
Keep up the hard work, and it will show once the snow
thaws.
02-02-2004 - Snow Bowl Champions
Bullets put
on a great performance at the 2004 Snow Bowl at Wheaton
College. A
full summary is available, but for all you busy
executives:
WPI 9 - Brandeis 8, for the first game;
WPI 13 - Roger Williams 11, with experimentation on a
2-3-2 zone D;
WPI 11 - Wheaton 6, on the last game against the
hosts.
It was a great start to the year and we showed glimpses
of what we're capable of doing this spring. Imagine what
we could do if we had subs!
07-30-2003 - Activities Fair Announcement
If you are
interested in joining or learning more about the team,
be sure to stop by at the activities fair on Wednesday,
August 27 between 9:30 AM and noon. If you have
any questions, feel free to email the team captains at
ultimate@wpi.edu.
05-07-2003 - Bullets finish season strong with solid
performance at Regionals.
After a
great spring season, the Bullets finished on a high
note, after completing their set goals to reach
Regionals and create some upsets. They nearly
earned that upset in the first round against the fourth
seeded Harvard, but lost a tough defeat at time cap.
But they bounced back for their next game against
Amherst College and got the upset they were looking for
by winning 13-11. A full write-up can be expected
sometime soon, but until then you can see all the
results
here.
Congratulations to all of the Bullets on a terrific
season and a big thank you to all of our players leaving
us. To all of the returning members, lets build on
this season's success and play even harder next year!
Be sure to keep active this summer--play in a summer
league, throw a disc with some friends, or do some
running or biking. Lets come back in August just
as strong as we left in May!
Yeah
Bullets!
04-21-2003 - BULLETS ARE REGIONALS BOUND!
After going
4-3 at the South New England College Sectionals, the
Bullets secured 4th place in the section and will be
heading to Regionals in two weeks. With a 13-7
upset over Conn College in pool play, the Bullets took
over 2nd seed in the A pool going into Sunday's
elimination brackets. They then defeated Brown- B
in the quarterfinals to assure a top four finish in the
section. For a full report on the tournament look
here. The final results and the five teams
heading to Amherst for regionals are:
1. Brown
2. Yale
3. Wesleyan
4. W.P.I.
5. Connecticut College
Congratulations on a job well done, Bullets.
Good luck to all the SNE teams at regionals!
04-01-2003 -
Dan is being lazy, so I (Mike Klos) have decided to
write a news update.
First off,
it's D term. The droppings of our winged friends have
been safely removed from the playing fields. For
the first time in more time than I care to remember, we
have scrimmaged. We haven't completely recreated the
classical ultimate playing experience because of the
injury inducing turf, but we are closer then ever.
We have been
in touch with the club sports director, getting field
times. It looks that for the foreseeable future we will
practices solely from 9 to 11 PM. This confirms my
suspicions about WPI, who by giving us field times has
tricked us into believing that they care for us, when in
reality they are turning us into nocturnal creatures.
When we have to play tournaments during the day time
(gasp), we will melt and die horrible painful deaths.
The other teams will really be surprised when we come
onto the line and then proceed to claw at our eyes.
Also, nearly
half the team is in Simple Harmonic Motion. At least
Mark, Rick, Greg, Tyler, and Alan. They had an awesome
performance on Saturday. There has to be some way to
apply their incredible vocal skills in ultimate. My
brain is a little fried so all I can think of is that
during time outs we'd have the most awesome and
formidable WALL ever. And how come we haven't used their
skills when coming up with cheers for other teams? This
is something we'll have to keep an eye on in the future.
02-23-2003 -
The administration would like to thank all of the
players who consistently made it to practices this C
Term. We know that practicing late at night in the
gym is not the most fun way to play disc, but with the
great turnouts we've been getting there's a ton of
potential for the spring season. Thanks also to
everyone who came over to 66 Fruit for pasta on Friday,
and thanks to Rick and Kilroy for delivering the comedy
we simply couldn't supply.
The roster
page has been updated, and everyone now has their own
little page. You'll notice some info is missing,
so if you're on the team, please email
dbrauer@wpi.edu
with your birthdate, height, weight, web URL, and
something interesting about yourself. Also check
to make sure the information there is correct. The
picture section has been updated, and all of the broken
links should now be fixed.
12-10-2002 -
As a Christmas gift to you all here is the new website.
This new design should make for better navigation and
will make the site much easier to update. I am
still working on the roster pages and the pictures
section, but I'll try to have them finished up over the
break.
Speaking of winter break,
there is a schedule now online of our suggested workouts
during the break. Please print this out and follow
it day by day. You can view the workout schedule
here.
In recent news, Evan,
Jay, Aman, and Dan competed in the Get Ho! Ho! Ho!
tournament on Cape Cod this past weekend, teaming up
with alumni Leanne Giusti. That's right, our team
consisted of a total of five players. We played
three games 5 vs. 7, and managed to finish second in our
pool by winning a game, and losing our crossover game by
only one point. We also played a heated game of
box with Hampshire College in place of some consolation
game, but we couldn't match their intensity and were
shut out 2-0. A full write-up will be posted
sometime.
It's been a great fall
season, Bullets. I hope you all had fun and
learned a little about the game, because when we get
back in January things will pick up quickly as we make
our run for Nationals (well, regionals at least).
10-28-2002 -
Some pictures are up from the Danse Macabre tournament
this past weekend as well as from the Burger King
Challenge. More pictures from tournaments will be
up soon, I've been working hard to please all of you
haters. Keep your eyes peeled.
-Dan
10-03-2002 -
Pictures from club sectionals are now online. You
can link to them directly by clicking
here. I have more pictures from last spring
that will be posted soon. Also, I was wondering if
anyone on the A-minus team would be willing to write a
quick report of what happened in your guys' games at
sectionals. I watched the first game, and saw the
last few points of the last game, but missed everything
in between.. If someone could fill me in on some details
I'd appreciate it.
Email me if you're
interested.
Remember, we have the
Stonehill Fall Tournament coming up this Sunday.
If you'd like to go but have not yet told us, email
ultimate@wpi.edu
to let us know you're coming. We'll be playing
five games, and everyone is invited! We also have
New England Fall College Challenge coming up in less
than two weeks! Check out the website
here
and take a look at some of the other teams competing.
There's plenty of great match-ups for both the A and B
teams, and will no doubt be a fantastic time! If
you haven't told us that you're coming to this (if
there's any way you can come, do!) email ultimate so we
can make sure we've got your name down.
-Dan
9-22-2002 - SO
MUCH NEWS TO REPORT!!
Great work at club
sectionals, Bullets. Both the A and A minus team
played well and seemed to have a lot of fun. The A
team finished second in their pool ahead of Brown B and
Taco Wagon, but falling to the top-seeded
Yeuth-and-Asia. While the potential for the team
really showed, so did our flaws. This was a great
first step towards a winning season. The A minus
team started off the day with two tough games in a row
versus Swell and Bowdoin, and only managed a point.
But they really stepped it up in their game against
Tufts B as they began to get some flow and work the disc
down the field. Unfortunately they couldn't quite
pull off the win, even after a hard charge after cap was
called.
Although I wasn't there
to witness the feat, rumor has it that the current
students trounced the alumni in the annual Homecoming
game. Read Jay's report
here.
Also, as you will notice
if you've been here before, the site has a new look.
This new site is not completely finished yet, so you
might come across some broken links and strange
formatting issues. These should all be taken care
of sometime soon (I promise). If you have any
comments on the new design, feel free to let me know.
In other news, watching
the Above and Beyond videos on Friday night reminded me
of a video I downloaded a while ago that has some great
footage from the World Ultimate Club Championships in
Honolulu, Hawaii. Check it out
here.
Scroll to the bottom and you will find it available in
Quicktime and streaming Windows Media Player formats.
Last but not least, I'd
like to thank everyone on the team for giving the
commitment that you have so far this year. If we
continue to bring up the level of play during practices,
we will be unreal come the springtime. Thanks for
checking out the website and watch for updates soon (I
really mean it this time).
-Dan
5-02-2002 -
The votes are in and it has been decided
that the co-captains for next year will be Jay Guise and
Dan Brauer. Good luck gentlemen.
Also, congratulations to
all the nominees for the position of co-captain.
If it is desired, next year other positions can be
created to help share the responsibility of running a
team.
Zack and I both feel that
it has been a pleasure being your captains for a year.
Good luck to Bullet in the future. Remember,
training hard and playing over the summer will help make
the team a powerful competitor next year. See you
in the Fall.
-Evan
4-28-2002 -
Awesome work at sectionals,
Bullet. While we missed out on the 4th bid to
regionals by a mere 2 points, we played really
well and had a blast. The team has improved
dramatically over the last year, and we'll only get
better. Look for us making some noise at the 2003
New England Regionals. Good luck with finals
everybody!
-Dan
4-17-2002 -
Hey everyone we are having such a rocking spring season
that we better end it right. So here's the deal --
next FRIDAY, APRIL 26, we are having our end of the year
ultimate party.
What's the point of the party? Besides just having
a good time together and getting pumped for sectionals,
we want to honor our teammates for all their awesome
playing during the year. So here's what I need
from you --
Please send me your
votes for the following "team awards" --
Most Valuable Player (MVP)
Most Improved Player (MIP)
Best Spirit (BS - sorry I thought that was funny)
But we're not just giving out these awards! We're
going to try to make awards for everyone, whether it's
awards for gratuitous layouts, bad
jokes, gu-eating cheer-screwing-up whatever.
So if there is a particular award you think should go to
someone, please let me know and it will get made.
I want to try to hit everyone so please rack your brains
for lots of people -- we can always weed out the cheap
ones.
If anyone feels creative and would like to help me
physically make these awards next week, that would be
awesome.
We'll talk more about the actual party later. But
I promise food, win lose or draw, maybe even taboo,
unbelievable ecstasy and jubilation.
-Nina
4-16-2002 -
Due to popular demand, full rundowns of both UMassacre
and the Brown B tournament have been posted. I
also came across some old pictures from last season that
are now up in the picture gallery. Take a look.
-Dan
4-14-2002 -
WPI GOES 3-0 AS THEY WIN
BROWN INVITE - Well I don't think it was
actually called the Brown Invite, but it sounds better
than "Brown B 4321." We did play great today,
though. We played some good defense including
successful 1-3-3 and conventional zones. On top of
that we really had some good flow on offense, with great
swings between the handlers, hard middle cuts, and a
successful long game too. If we keep working at it
and keep up with this level of play we should do very
well at sectionals two weeks from now.
In other
news, there are now pictures from UMassacre (thanks
Mace). I'll post rundowns for both UMass and Brown
soon. Also, we may be attending a coed tournament hosted
Wesleyan where we'll be playing with the girls from
Smith. If that doesn't happen there is a
tournament Sunday that we may be able to get into.
-Dan
4-07-2002 -
Nice work at UMass this weekend Bullet! We played
with intensity and heart both Saturday and Sunday.
As it was said on the playing field, our strategy and
skills are good enough to take us a long way this
year... but we need to make catches and throws.
Hopefully we can improve that basic part of our game in
the next few weeks.
Thanks to all who came. More info to come in a day
or so about next Sunday's tournament hosted by Brown B.
-Evan & Zack. And Life.
4-02-2002 -
According to the latest UPA College rankings, we're
ranked 164th out of 211 teams. Not bad.
Check out the full rankings
here.
-Dan
4-01-2002 - We
had talked to you guys about sectionals being on the
April 20th and 21st, BUT they changed the date to the
27th and 28th of April. That is the last weekend of the
term.
-Evan & Zack
3-31-2002 - WPI
defeats Bowdoin College and Tufts B as they go 2-1 at
Nor'Easterns - The headline says it all.
The five of us who went to Nor'Easterns on the Cape
picked up a few people and did very well at the
tournament. For a full report, check out the
tournament recap.
-Dan
3-28-2002 -
Updates to the site include pictures from URI and Holy
Cross, a review of Ultimate Mayhem IV, an updated
roster, and a more finalized practice schedule.
Check them all out. For those of you who weren't
able to come with us to either day of Mayhem at URI, it
was a good tournament as we had a winning record on
Saturday and overall we played very well. It was a
good start to the season, but there's a lot of room for
improvement, especially if we want to reach our goal of
making it to Regionals. So everyone keep coming to
practice and have a good Easter. A few of us plan
on going to Nor'Easters on the Cape, which should be a
good time. Everyone remember we've got UMassacre
coming up the weekend after, which will give us a chance
to play some of the best college teams in the country,
so get excited. We also may be attending a
tournament the weekend after that. More details
about that as soon as they are available.
-Dan
3-17-2002 -
Happy St. Patrick's day, folks. For those of you
who weren't able to go, practice today was a scrimmage
with Holy Cross. We broke into two teams and held
two simultaneous games against a young Holy Cross team.
While both of our teams were victorious, our level of
play was decidedly not our highest. Maybe we can
use this as a reminder that we still need to work on a
lot of the basics of the game, like patience, clearing,
and making hard cuts. We were able to get away
with it today, but hopefully everyone noticed and we can
work on getting better. And the only way to do
that is to keep playing, so check out the practice
schedule! Also, we've got a two-day tournament
coming up next weekend, so lets get psyched!
-Dan
3-13-2002 -
Welcome the the WPI Ultimate Frisbee Team's webpage.
I hope you like it, I think it's a bit of an improvement
from the old bus site. As you can see, the team
has adopted a new name, Bullet. Take some time to
look around and check things out. Realize that the
site is still very much under construction. I am
still awaiting survey answers from a bunch of people,
and I still need to get tournament summaries and player
bios done. Some people still are not yet on the
roster, so if you're not there and think you should be,
hold tight, you'll be there soon. Also, if anyone
has pictures you'd like me to put up, send them to me
and I'll be glad to. If they're not digital, I can
get them scanned, so feel free to let me know. In
the future check this page for site updates, tournament
schedules and results, and other general news. If
you have any comments or questions, let me know.
