Wondering how to find the Little Theatre?
Luigi Pirandello's Six Characters In Search Of An Author shocked audiences at its 1921 premiere, inciting not only a riot in the streets but a revolution in Western theatrical thought. Pirandello's innovative drama called into question the purpose of theatre, the conventions of theatrical narrative, and even the truth of human existence, all the while exploring the sordid secrets of a mysterious family.
This winter, Pirandello's most renowned work comes to WPI for the first time in a new adaptation written especially for the Little Theatre by Ben LaVerriere ('11). In this fresh and exciting treatment, Pirandello's famous Characters are thrust into the reality of twenty-first century America. Nevertheless, the search for meaning and identity is just as urgent — and just as intriguing — as it was nearly a century ago in Italy.
