Drama / Theatre

Independent Study Project (ISP)

What is an ISP?

Completing an ISP in Drama/Theatre gives a student a 1/6 credit towards the Humanities and Arts requirement, the Drama/Theatre Major, the Drama/Theatre Minor, or a Free Elective.

How can I earn ISP credit

To successfully complete an ISP a student must have a position working on a Masque production co-produced by HUA D/T and often performed in the Little Theatre. That student must complete a certain number of hours working on the production (45 hours as a member of production crew or 60 hours as a member of the cast). You can earn ISP credit for both the current and past shows.

Applying for an ISP

  1. To receive credit, a student must apply for an ISP in Drama/Theatre and complete the ISP Application and Safety Form.

BOTH THE APPLICATION AND SAFETY AND RISK TABS MUST BE FILLED OUT TO SUCCESSFULLY APPLY!

This is an example of how to properly fill out the application: Example ISP Application

  1. The application should be submitted under the Forms seciton of the Drama/Theatre Academic Program through Orgsync which can be found here: Drama/Theatre Academic Program

If a student is not a member of the Drama/Theatre Academic Program on Orgsync, they should request membership to have access to files/forms pages. If you are unable to join the Orgsync page you may email your files to dtisp@wpi.edu.

Submitting Hours for an ISP

The hours form for receiving ISP credit is due by the end of the production's strike (this falls immediately after the last performance of the production).

  1. Complete the ISP Hours Form.

This is an example of how to properly fill out the hours form: Example Hours Form

  1. Submit the hours form in Orgsync (see details in "Applying for an ISP").

Applying for a Retroactive Credit ISP
