COURSE SYLLABUS

HOMEWORK

Your work should be very legible and done neatly. If the work is not presentable, and is illegible, you will not receive credit for it. Please staple the sheets of your assignment together. Do not use paper torn out of spiral bound notebooks. In the upper right hand corner of your assignment you should write
• the book section number and list of assigned problems
A problem will receive a score of 1 if done correctly, 1/2 if reasonably done but having some error, and 0 if not done at all or nothing accomplished. You need to show both your answer and the work leading to it. Merely having the right answer gets no credit. Your homework grade is determined at the end of the course by the percentage of the graded problems assigned that you got correct.

HELP WITH BASICS

WPI offers Math and Science Help (M*A*S*H) and Tutoring for help in introductory courses.
The M*A*S*H Room is located in Daniels Hall next to the elevator and the Tutor room is right across the Hall from the Academic Advising Office in Daniels Hall. Both M*A*S*H and Tutoring will begin Monday. There are schedules posted outside both the M*A*S*H and Tutoring Rooms and are also given below: MA501 students who are shaky on Calculus should look for help in MA1021, 1022, 1023, or 1024. Those needing help on introductory differential equations should look to MA2051, and those needing help in linear algebra should look to MA2071.
