STW is actually a really great class! We learn all about grammar and different ways to write. Dr. Sumner's favortie classroom tool is "Diana Hacker: Rules for Writing." So if you can, refer to that for all your writing assignments!
This Occam's Razor paper is an example of a typical STW assignment. Occam's razor states that by seeking the simplest explanation, one will usually find the most logical one. Also, here is an example of a methodology we did for spreading cream cheese on a bagel. BEST STW CLASS HANDS DOWN!
Also, here is a knol we had to write on Google after our STREAM A projects. You can actually go to Google Knol and look up my paper if you want to! Here is another example of what we do in class. We wrote a letter to the Nobel Foundation in Sweden that explained our views on post-humous awards and Percy Julian. A more recent paper I wrote was on anesthesia. I love medecine, so this was a great assignment for me!
