Music is fantastic.
Hopefully someday Sarah McElman will be synonymous with "explorer-adventurer". I plan on living in Cairo, but only after I have visited New Zealand, Moscow, Paris, Beijing, and Lake Victoria. I love Henry David Thoreau and the philosophies of the ancients, including the Greeks (Plato), the Chinese (Confucius), and the Indians (The Bhagavad-Gita). I'm also a devoted fan of Classical music, namely the Romantic era (Brahms, Rimsky-Korsakov, Musorgsky, Ravel) but also in J. S. Bach and Shostakovitch (and Copland and Vaughn Williams and...). I play the violin.
After Mass Academy, I plan on majoring in aeronautical engineering with either a minor in chemical or environmental engineering. I've loved rocket design, mission control, and the universe since my first telescope. When I was ten, I discovered rocketry, and since then my mother has banned my attempts at developing rocket fuels, also known as basement chemistry.
Please note that the links to my personal work that were formerly incorporated into this site no longer exist. But, you can still enjoy the pictures of Joshua Bell and Diana Hacker.
