Hello, and welcome to my website! I am Suhrit Ghosh (সুহৃৎ ঘোষ), a current junior at Mass Academy. My sending school is Shrewsbury High School, and I have lived in Shrewsbury my whole life. I live with my parents, who are from Kolkata--a city in India which I love to visit! My mother tongue is Bangla/Bengali, often regarded as one of the sweetest languages in the world :) .
A longtime interest of mine is music! I have been playing the piano since I was six years old, and the violin since I was ten years old. In my free time, I arrange music for Bengali cultural programs as well. Aside from this, I am currently a violinist in the Worcester Youth Symphony Orchestra.
At my sending school, I was a part of FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Team 467 Center of Mass, working on the electrical and outreach sub-teams. I also did photography for the team, capturing team memories and our robot in action. Check out our pictures in the 467 Flickr album! Aside from working on the robot, one of my favorite experiences was contributing to our submission for the FIRST Impact Award, and coaching our impact presenters to help them prepare for their presentation at competitions. Coaching younger students for our FIRST Lego League (FLL) program was also something I enjoyed as part of the community initiatives we restarted. Here at Mass Academy, I have joined Team 190 to continue competing in FRC!
Origami is a unique art form itself, requiring time and patience. It is quite relaxing, and leads to intricate creations being made! The specific type of origami that I make is known as three-dimensional or modular origami; each creation is comprised of hundreds of small modules, interlocked together without any glue.
