January 17, 2007 - Corruption!

Hi Rick, I figure we both know that I'm the real brains of this outfit, so to ease you into the job I'll feed you your lines this one time. Just forward this to the list and try not to screw up next week's notes, and i'm sure we'll get along fine. -Monica

Well, we'll just see about that, Miss Veep. You may be the brains of the outfit, but I'm no chump, see? I can take your cold words and wam them up to the ears of the Revolution, I assure you. Let's see what you've decided to "order" me to say...

Friday Gaming is this Friday. In the Wedge. There'll be gaming.
How passive. Really now, not only should the people realize that Wedge Gaming is in fact this Friday night, as with every week, but they should also realize that at said event they will have an amazing time playing various of an assortment of games from our Gaming Vaults -- I mean, library.

Battlestar Galactica returns this Sunday, January 21, at 10 PM in Olin 107. There'll be nukes. Be there.
How interesting that in this new administration the former Secretary, now the self-proclaimed brains of the operation, would so casually proclaim that nuclear weapons would be included in the proceedings. For shame.

Mark will be showing episodes of MST3K on Sundays starts in at 1 PM in Founders, probably FH106. Two or three episodes will be up each week.
Could it be possible that Dr. Forrester has connections to the SFS? Hmm, this smells funny to me. And not the "ha ha" kind of funny. More like the "sad clown that isn't really into it" kind of funny. Yeah.

If you're in Jeremiah's ship design tournament, email your design to him by this Saturday so he can check over things and commence the tournament.
The first sportsman's event taking place under the new administration. Do take care to notice any foul play or trickery. I assure you, "Shrubbery Cannon" is NOT a legal move.

This Saturday at noon former President Mike XIV will be showing Transformers: the Motion Picture in Founders 104. Orson Welles. Transformers. It'll be good.
Ah, we here see the first true command to the people by the new Viceroy. Do not be fooled, citizens, good times shall be had even without the order of the "higher ones" that "It'll be good." Think about that one. You can feel the "or else" just waiting to be said.

Starting next week, Rick will be TUBbing the anime Princess TuTu in Founders 106 starting at 6 PM.
Ah, jumping the gun, are we? Exact details will be announced next week, unless of course you would care to leak classified information to the civilians yet again.

Gaming Weekend D07 has encountered some organizational hiccups (namely, Founders Basement closing to make way for Campus Police effective one month from now) and as a result the exact dates for it are currently undetermined. We know that Gaming Weekend will run this March. Further details when we have actual rooms for it.
We see now the rammifications of our election already. Police forces now (by "now" of course we mean "in a month's time") working directly below us, even when we sleep. Big Brother is watching you.

A new gaming store is opening in Worcester: Rising Phoenix Games. I completely failed to take one of their flyers, but they have information on their web site.
Ah, we find the first outright advertisement by our previous Secretary. Known for "spamming the list" with these very Meeting Notes, she now resorts to petty advertising of amazing gaming stores in order to let people acknowledge her power.

Nyren is considering a Babylon 5 TUB...but this time around, we can cut out the crappy episodes and get to the good stuff faster. Further details TBA.
For those not in the know, "TBA" stands for "TO BE ANNIHILATED". Do not trust this one with the details of a television show about a space station and the peoples working and living on it, oh no.

SFS officer elections were held at today's meeting! The new elected officers are as follows:
President: Jon Adler
Vice President: Monica Kolb
Treasurer: Richard Pavis
Secretary: Richard Desilets

I see what you did there. Rise to the top, leaving the newbies on the bottom, eh? So perhaps the officer positions just so happen to be in that order, but I can see through your plan! These officers were elected and will be given officer names at the next meeting.

Stay tuned next week for librarian appointments, officer nicknames, and more!

Stealing my lines, are we? Harumph, I say. Harumph. Next week, you can all give us officers silly names and such with which to more easily identify us (to assassinate, mayhaps? Mayhaps indeed...) The librarians will also be announced and "nomenclated" as it were. See you all next week!
