ALIVE AND WELL IN THE WORLD OF DESIGN-BUILD?
The first in our 2006 series of Educational Forums,
"Alive and Well in the World of Design- Build?", provides valuable
perspectives on both Contractor-Led and Engineering-Led Public and
Private Projects.
If used properly, the design-build delivery method can offer
huge benefits to all parties involved. The goal of this forum is
three-fold: to explore the use of the design-build delivery method
in both high visibility and low profile projects, to share
expertise in how it can be used well, and to generate open
discussion regarding the various facets of using this project
delivery method.
We are pleased to have four very interesting and distinguished
speakers for this forum. They are:
- MARK HANCHAR, Senior Preconstruction Manager for
GILBANE BUILDING COMPANY, will showcase a range of
design-build projects by several construction companies,
including Turner.
- MARK SHAMON, Vice President Surface Transportation
for URS CORP., will present a case study of the complex
and forward-looking design-build Route 3 North project, for
which he was Project Manager.
- FRED MULLIGAN, President of CUTLER ASSOCIATES,
will showcase Cutler's extensive experience in design-build
projects of all sizes and complexities.
- TIMOTHY BONFATTI, President and COO of RF WALSH
COMPANY, will discuss various private sector approaches for
design-build.
Our moderator for this evening will be MARK
PELLETIER of STV INC. Mark, Project Manager for the
Greenbush Project, currently serves as President for the DBIA
New England Chapter.
Join us for a dynamic and informative evening as we discuss the
complexities, strategies and accomplishments in the world of
design-build! |
