Get the basics right -- and the rest comes easy!
 
This course will provide a comprehensive overview of what are considered four of the major project delivery systems utilized in today's marketplace -- Design-Build, Design-Bid-Build, Contract Management At-risk, and Multi-Prime.  Each method is reviewed in detail with a review of some major advantages, as well as pitfalls, of each method.  The information in this course is essential knowledge for all owners and practitioners utilizing any, or all, of the project delivery methods noted above.

  • Explain how to select an appropriate project delivery system.
  • Describe the four common types of contract structures and explain how to select an appropriate payment method.
Course Presenter: Bill Godwin, DBIA
 
Bill Godwin is a Partner and Senior Project Manager with BACAR Constructors, Inc., located in Nashville, Tennesse.  A 1983 graduate of Auburn University with a degree in Building Science, Bill has been with BACAR since 1986.  BACAR Constructors has actively used Design-Build in the construction of industrial, commercial, recreational and health care projects for their clients throughout the Southeast and Midwest.  A member of 2003 class of Designated Design-Build Professionals, Bill is aslo active with Middle Tennessee Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors.
