Why "DESIGN-BUILD" for Connecticut Public Projects?

Does the Design-Build delivery system provide us with the control and flexibility we need for publicly funded construction projects?

How is it different and why is that good (or bad)?

LogoThe DBIA New England Chapter is pleased to offer a panel of experienced professionals in the fields of government, law, design and construction to address the issues surrounding a community's choice of how to successfully plan, manage and complete a building project.

We hope that those involved in soliciting for and choosing development, design and construction teams will benefit from a frank discussion on whether the conventional construction delivery methods offer the best tools and most effective way of getting the job done.

We plan to outline the critical issues that face our public sector boards, commissions and executives in construction management and procurement, as well as debate the pros and cons of "DESIGN-BUILD" as a project delivery method.

The DBIA's mission is to promote the widespread and successful use of the design-build method for project delivery.  DBIA brings together owners, builders and architects to advocate and advance single-source project delivery within the design and construction community, thereby improving the professional standards of the industry across the board.
