The Design-Build Institute
of America (DBIA) announces the rollout of our 2006 National
Education Tour - Eighty (80) courses in 31 major
cities - ensuring that top-notch design-build education is
always available, and always accessible!
This year we bring you
DBIA's new OWNER SERIES of education that includes
coursework on writing performance specifications, managing the
source selection process, and writing high-performance contracts
that provide for rewards and incentives.
Tried and true are DBIA's
three "core courses" which are the cornerstone of our educational
program. These courses are required of all candidates seeking the
Designated Design-Build ProfessionalTM designation and
include:
- Fundamentals of
Project Delivery
- Principles of
Design-Build Project Delivery
- Design-Build
Contracts and Risk Management
And don't forget the
Design-Build Exam Prep Course, an instructor-led
one-day refresher course specifically designed to help prepare you
for the DBIATM designation exam.
Who Should Attend
DBIA Courses? Because design-build is an integrated project
delivery method, attendees of DBIA courses span a large
spectrum including: government agency employees; owners of
buildings, civil infrastructure and process plant facilities;
design-builders; architects; engineers; general contractors;
specialty contractors; project managers; acquisition professionals;
lawyers; insurance professionals; teaching/research academics
specializing in architecture, engineering, and construction; and
students pursuing degrees in architecture, engineering, and
construction. In short, any individual who is part of the project
team will find DBIA courses to be valuable opportunities for
additional education and networking.

The Design-Build
Institute of America (DBIA) was founded in 1993 in response to the
emergence of design-build and integrated project delivery as a
significant force in the design and construction industry. From its
headquarters in Washington, DC, and network of chapters throughout
the U.S., the Institute provides a forum for all participants in the
design-build process, owners and practitioners alike. DBIA is the
center of expertise for integrated project delivery, advocating best
practices, creating and disseminating educational information, and
furnishing advice and support to facility owners and
users.
