Orchestra is really fun. It's strange how you only meet twice a week but can prepare for a concert that's only a month away (although our winter concert is about 2 1/2 months away as of October 3rd). The rehearsals go by quickly but they're rigorous rehearsals. I play in the viola section, although I have played piano since first grade and have tutored in both piano and viola since 2005.
So far we've played:
- Fingal's Cave (Overture) by Mendelssohn
- Capriole Movements 1, 2, and 6 by Warlock
For the upcoming winter concert we are going to play:
-Hallelujah Chorus by Handel
-Tchaikovsky Symphony No.1 "Winter Symphony"
-Dona Nobis by Bach (With WPI Chorus)
-Go Tell It on the Mountain (With WPI Chorus)
-Passacaglia and Fugue by Bach
-Norfolk Rhapsody by Ralph Vaughan Williams
