Mathematics Modeling

POW is for Prisoner of Work

Math's a blast this year. The program we use for stuff is Mathematica. (It's quite frustrating sometimes though. The math, not Mathematica).

If you've come from a school where you felt you didn't learn much for the past couple years, math's going to be quite a change. Our first assessment test showed that much. And the tetrahedron problem that's given requires some thinking in order to solve for the volume.

Mathematica is an amazing program with a bunch of graph stuff. Its learning curve can be high, but if you work through it, it's extremely powerful for math calculations!

Our math class broke up into groups to participate in the High School Mathematics Contest in Modeling, which lasts for 36 hours. It involves getting a group of four teammates over to play Brawl I mean model a situation determined by the contest. It's fun stuff.
