I was born in Chennai, India and moved to the United States when I was around twelve years old. I initially lived in and attended school in Warminster, Pennsylvania. In the middle of my freshman year in high school, I moved to Dudley, Massachusetts, and have lived here ever since. I speak Tamil fluently, can understand Hindi, and my Spanish is a work in progress. I have a sister who is ten years old. This is a picture of us from our vacation to Acadia National Park, Maine. Many people don’t enjoy flying in an airplane, but it is my favorite part about traveling anywhere.

Hobbies and Extracurriculars
Apart from school work, I really enjoy reading; some of my favorite novels have to be To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak, and Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. I used to play basketball, but I also enjoy watching cricket and soccer. I participated in the Brain Bee competition held by UMass Medical School; the competition involves studying about the brain, its different parts and functions, the neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric diseases, the treatment methods used by doctors, and the ongoing research in the area. I also volunteer at Harrington Hospital in Webster, Massachusetts, which is a very rewarding experience.
At Mass Academy, I have participated in the Biotech extracurricular, Math Team, and Model UN. In Biotech, we learnt about handling scientific equipment, and using technology to collect data and analyze results. In Model UN, we debated current and controversial topics, such as the use of unmanned aerial vehicles and have had some very interesting discussions about complicated issues facing the world. The following picture is from our Model UN conference at Saint John's High School.
