STW stands for Science and Technical Writing, and Dr. Sumner teaches the course. She's really brilliant and hilarious. We learn about grammar and writing on more scientific topics rather than what we might write in humanities. This class is also supposed to help us with our big research papers. So far, I feel like I have progressed greatly with my writing. Dr. Sumner is very insightful with her edits, and she is extremely knowledgable about Science and English.

• Bagel Methodology In STW, we do fun things like make bagels and write methodologies. Here is a scientific methodology on how to make a bagel. I guarantee you will never look at bagels the same way.

• Elementary Methodology Here is another methodology we did, but it was in the form a child would understand. All of our methodologies (the child ones) are combined into one book that other Elementary schools use.

• Dupont Challenge Essay This is an essay I wrote that was submitted to a national writing compeition, the Dupont Challenge. The piece is an expository essay on acne.

• Percy Julian Letter This is a letter that was sent to the Noble Foundation regarding Percy Julian. I wrote that he should not be awarded a prize in Chemistry, nor in Physiology and Medicine. I enjoyed writing this letter.

• Java This is another expository essay. It was on Java, the computer programming language. I discussed the history, development, uses, and controversies surrounding the language.
