Hi, I'm Nick Medeiros. I go to the Massachusetts Academy of Mathematics and Science. I really really love it here. If any sophomores are looking at this, I highly recommend going to the informational sessions, shadowing, taking the test, and applying. Mass Academy is an amazing experience, even with the lack of sleep. It's extremely different than any other school out there, and you won't know what it is like until you are here. There is a ton of homework, so I don't have any free time anymore. It's really depressing. I miss being able to do what I want outside of school. It'll get better during the summer though. Still, I think if you really want to come here, you should! It really is a great place, with a lot of wonderful people.
I used to have activities before I came here. I ran a lot during the summer. Now, I can only run on the weekends, if that. I like the programming we do in computer science, which I thought I would hate. Math is still my favorite. I want to be a math major in college, but still take a lot computer science classes. I hope Mass Academy pays off in the end. I absolutely cannot wait until next year. Everyone says it will be a piece of cake in comparison to the hell we are all in now. Still, I love it.
