Dr. Ray has nearly 20 years of experience in attracting and performing sponsored research work. During his career he has served as the principal investigator on nearly $6.5 million in sponsored research, over $1.75 million of this in the last five years while at WPI. He has worked for the most prestigious sponsors in the field of roadside and highway safety including the Federal Highway Administration, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the National Cooperative Highway Research Program as well as many State Departments of Transportation, commercial organizations and the National Science Foundation.
