Minutes - B' 04

12.03.2004 Meeting Minutes

Here are the minutes for the Masque Meeting on December 3, 2004. There's
a couple of big things in the "Others" section, so make sure you read it
all.

Adam has set up a "masque" group on Facebook for anyone who is interested
in that sort of thing.

Death of a Salesman -
Thanks to everyone who acted, produced, auditioned, or even said aloud
the name of "Death of a Salesman". It was a marvelous experience, and
everyone left it better than they entered. Remember it.

Catch Me If You Can -
Auditions for Masque's C Term Show, Catch Me If You Can, will be taking
place on Monday the 6th and Tuesday the 7th of December (that's this
Monday and Tuesday!) at 6pm in the Green Room at Alden Hall. Callbacks
will be at 5pm on Thursday. Sasha Levshin, the director, is looking
for a stage manager and an assistant director. Contact her at
sashita@wpi.edu if you are interested. Kelly Driscoll, the producer,
is looking for a ton of production positions, so email her at
kdriscol@wpi.edu if you are interested.

MW Rep -
The selection meeting for the C Term show will be Sunday, December 5th
(tomorrow!) at 4 pm in the Mid Century Room on the 3rd floor of the
Campus Center. ALL are welcome, and if you want to join MW Rep this is
a great place to start. Suggestions for plays can be made by emailing
freakwan@gweep.net with a title, author, producer, director, and a
brief synopsis. Current suggestions can be found at
http://www.gweep.net/~mwrep/sugg.html .

New Voices 23 -
Dramaturgs for NV23 should look for an email soon to schedule our first
general meeting.
Shauna Malone (Executive Producer for NV23) is looking for an awesome
assistant producer to be her liason to campus, as she will be offcampus
much of the time. She is also looking for a rocking Director of
Communications. As a matter of fact, all production positions are
currently open, so contact her at shaunana@gmail.com if you are
interested in anything. The great NV recruitment begins. The website
has been updated with the new deadlines, you can check them out at
http://users.wpi.edu/~masque/newvoices.html .

Alpha Psi Omega -
The 24 hour show is going down December 11th in Riley Commons, and
admission is free! There will be a more detailed reminder specifically
sent out later in the week. There was a meeting following the Masque
meeting.

Student Comedy Productions - DEFINITE SHOW DETAILS!
   Guerilla Improv - See below.
   Kilroy - See below.
Empty Set - Empty Set will be hosting a Student Comedy Productions
Study Break Comedy Festival for the ages in Alden Hall on December
14th, admission is free! All 3 groups will be putting on a show, and
each group will have 45 minutes with brief intermissions with food in
between. It will be awesome!

Susan -
   "It's only words...unless they're true."
         -- David Mamet

Trivia -
Sarah Pavis took home the trivia prize for correctly discovering that
Christopher Durang's series of one act plays "Durang/Durang" linked all
of my clues together. She received a copy of the Declaration of
Independence, with refined plastic invented by Ben Franklin himself.
God bless Pennsylvania!

AJ -
Don't stay up all night and sleep for an hour before the Masque meeting
or you'll end up like her! And if you want to see more people like her
come to the 24 hour show this Saturday!

Others -
Dean - Dean will be teaching a ISP worth 1/3 HU credit next term in
projections. You'll learn things like what you may have seen in Death
of a Salesman, and so much more. There are only 10 slots available,
and only 10 remaining, so tell him quickly if you are interested.
Mike Schenck - Mike's band of impermanent names is performing in Riley
Commons the day after the Alpha Psi 24 hour show, for free! Check it
out!
   Mike Ciaraldi -

Prof. Mike Ciaraldi has an offer to stage his short play _Captions_ (which
premiered at New Voices 22) at the Arisia science fiction convention in
Boston in late January. The schedule is not finalized, but it should be
either Saturday or Sunday afternoon, January 22 or 23, 2005.

We will need at least two new cast members, a director, a producer and/or
stage manager, and some tech crew. Anyone interested, please contact him
via email at ciaraldi@wpi.edu.

11.05.2004 Meeting Minutes

Alpha Psi Omega -
The Voting Meeting was Friday night beginning at 9pm. Those accepted
are being notified and will be announced soon.

Student Comedy Productions -
GI - There was a show in Salisbury Lounge at 9pm on Friday, and it went
spectacularly. A common comment on the location was that it was very
"intimate", and that the show was very "good".
Kilroy - We rarely have dyanmic weekly news to report. Look for our
trailer coming to a movie near you soon, and the show, as always, is
the last Friday of the term, which is December 10th. We are always
hard at work.
Empty Set - They too are hard at work at creating their first show of
the year, which will happen before the end of this term. Be excited.
Be, be, excited.

Susan -
"Any Starbucks beverage, our treat, with this coupon."
        -- Starbucks, Inc.

Trivia -
The winner of this week's trivia was Susan Vick, and she takes home an
enviable 3 feet of bungy cord with which to mildly bounce the night
away. Good journey.

AJ -
AJ saw the Jerry Springer Opera in London over the summer, which was
just awesome. She is of legal drinking age in London, so before the
play she had a few drinks, and so really had to pee. She was in the
bathroom and noticed that the toilet paper was engraved with, in place
of cute fluffy bears or Steve Buscemi's autograph, full musical staffs
and notes with lyrics from the show. She instantly grabbed rolls upon
rolls of the paper, and told her fellow theatergoers in a drunkenly
loud voice about it. The paper was delivered promptly to its intended
owner, Sarah Pavis, at the end of the story.

Others -
Road Trip totally happened this past weekend, and it was just
wonderful. The Audiophiles debuted, and SHM and I8 showed off their
new and interesting repertoires. Urses Versus, a group from Bowdoin
College, also performed at he festival. It was a highly pleasing
event.

Secretariat,
Eric Mill

More details to come.

Susan -
"Baseball is drama, with an endless run and an everchanging cast."
            -- Joe Garagiola

Eric -
Only one person answered my trivia question correctly, and he didn't
come to the meeting. The first black member of Second City was Bob
Curry. Mike Schenck was awarded a Kit Kat for completing feats in
speed and daring.

AJ -
Double costume day! 70's casual, 70's DANCE! AJ turns 70!

Others -
Paul - Paul is looking for a ride to Assassins, a controversial one act
musical about real past presidential assassins. If you are interested
in going and can help Paul out, let him know at pmessier@wpi.edu.
Mike - Tonight at 8PM in Riley Commons, Mike's Band COHEETY is
performing as the opener for the Indy Rock Show. In ADDITION, Mike's
OTHER band "Make Out Room" is performing at Coffeehouse next Tuesday at
8PM. Allow yourselves to be romanced by Mike and his whimsical
associates.
Dean - Tonight at 8PM, and Tomorrow at 2PM and 8PM at Emerson Stage in
Boston, The Duchess of Malfi is being performed, with projections
designed by Dean O'Donnell. He worked really hard on them and the play
should be pretty rocking. If you go to a certain parade in Boston,
it's a short walk over to the theater afterwards.

I bid timely communications to you too,
Eric Mill
