Minutes - A' 04

10.08.2004 Meeting Minutes

NOTICE:
>From now on, the minutes will be sent out preferably by the Sunday
following the meeting, and absolutely by the Tuesday following the
meeting. The only reason this week's minutes are late are due to the
physical loss of my notebook, which was recently recovered. Anyway, on to
the minutes.

We bid farewell to our President Kelly Driscoll this meeting, who we will
see next in C Term. Best of luck to her, wherever she is now.

Death of a Salesman -
A full cast readthrough and two smaller readthroughs have been done
now, and expect the pace to pick up quickly in B Term. For those
involved, there will be lots of email in the next 2 weeks. There will
also be an updated list of the production positions coming up.

Alpha Psi Omega -
Alpha Psi had a meeting afterwards, where they assigned sponsors and
stuff. Nominations are closed. Congrats to all mysterious unnamed
nominees.

SCP -
   Guerilla Improv -
The end of A Term study break show was canceled, so look for
Guerilla Improv this B term with an expanded repertoire of cast
members.
   Kilroy -
Kilroy has their A term show, Kilroy Is Dating Your Sister, at 8pm
following the Masque Meeting in Fuller Auditorium. It went
smashingly. Elections for B Term have been held, and the new
officers are: Producer - Bill Lazzaro, Director - Eric Mill. Keep
an eye out on the Kilroy website, http://comedy.wpi.edu/kilroy over
the next couple weeks as the live and filmed sketches from last C
term, D term, and this most recent show appear online.
   Empty Set -
Empty Set has admitted 3 new members, Edmund James Massa, Chris
Osborne, and Edward Gregory Roberts. Their next show will be in B
term.

Susan -
   "Screenwriters: schmucks with underwoods."
          -- Jack Warner

AJ -
   AJ brought us a cat!

Others -
AJ - The Red Cross is putting on a demonstration of an emergency
situation, complete with actors as victims. They're specifically
looking for acting types, so if you are interested in particpating,
email jean@wpi.edu for details.
Josie - Josie got a job!

Again, apologies for the lateness, and I'll see you all in B Term.

-- Eric Mill

10.01.2004 Meeting Minutes

Death of a Salesman -
Death of a Salesman is fully cast, and the cast list has been sent out.
The first readthrough was on Monday, and it went snazzlingly. Cast or
not, if you are interested in helping with the production in any way,
large or small, contact salesman@wpi.edu.

Alpha Psi -
Alpha Psi Omega passed 8 constitutional amendments in their last
meeting. In accordance with them, nominations have been open from last
Friday until the end of today. Anyone can still nominate anyone. One
rule change is that instead of a requirement for number of shows, they
now examine terms of service.

Student Comedy Productions -
   Guerilla Improv -
There is a show coming up on Wednesday at 6pm. The time isn't
finalized, but expect it around there. If you're studying for your
finals on Thursday and just want a nice hour long humor massage,
check them out. Location TBA.

   Kilroy -
There is a show TONIGHT, at 8PM, in Fuller Auditorium! It's that
time where we show off the work we did all term on making a big
comedy show, and it's generally very sweet. Encouragement, join,
view, entranced, laugh.

   Empty Set -
New members will be announced soon, keep your ears peeled. Literally.

Susan -
"Opening night. The night before a play is ready to open."
        - George Gene Nathan

AJ -
AJ's cats play a game known as Sponge Assassins, where they will take a
sponge, and carry them in their teeth and drop them at random spots
around the apartment. There are at least 11 of them scattered around
the apartment, and AJ invites any of you to come over and play. 21
Elbridge, Apartment 2.

Trivia -
Dean correctly answered this week's trivia about the recent death of a
salesman in India. For his reward I granted him the chance to
challenge my title of secret world armwrestling champion, and after an
epic battle I was dethroned. Remind me to take you all out for dinner
at Coffee of the Heart in honor of Dean's new life.

Others -
   Smriti -
She received a knock on her door at 2 am by a young man informing
her that there is an awesome exhibit going on now at the Worcester
Aurora Gallery on Main St. For info on what the exhibit is actually
of, visit http://www.artsworcester.org.

   Kelly -
Masque is not associated with the upcoming production of Rocky
Horror. For that matter, neither is Kilroy, despite what Soccomm's
posters currently say.
Also, contact Kelly if you are interested in being an assistant
producer for C Term, as one is still needed.

   Dan -
      AJ is a complaining whine-o!

See you next week, and by next week I mean today.

Yours,
Eric Mill

09.24.2004 Meeting Minutes

Death of a Salesman -
Auditions have gone down smoothly, and callbacks are tonight from 5pm
to 7pm in Salisbury Labs 011. If you were called back...do it!
The poster design has been selected and was displayed at the meeting.
It was designed by Dave Stechmann. Look for the poster to appear on
the Masque website sometime soon. If you're desperate to see it, email
salesman@wpi.edu. For that matter, all questions about Death of a
Salesman can now be directed to the aforementioned alias,
salesman@wpi.edu.

Ten Little Indians -
There was totally a show in Riley Commons last weekend, and it it went
fantastiquely. Fie on all you who missed it. Good work, MW Rep.

Alpha Psi Omega -
There was an important meeting after the meeting, embroiled in mystery.
 Hot, boiling mystery.

Student Comedy Productions -
Guerilla Improv - Show coming up in like 2 weeks!
Kilroy - Show coming up in like 2 weeks!!
Empty Set - Auditions are tonight from 7pm to 9pm in SL104. Go try
out, and make the newest comedy troupe on campus that much more new.

Susan O'Donnell -
Do or not do. There is no try.
        -- Yoda

AJ -
Shaky Sam told us a shaky joke: Why do elephants wear pink shoes? To
hide in cherry trees. That is shaky ground. Let's try to have more
jokes rooted in stability and a solid moral foundation. I'll try one.
Q: Why did Eliza Goodworth let her husband visit the woman who lived
next door at 3 am for 3 nights in a row?
A: Mr. Goodworth and the neighbor were working extra early in order to
study roosters when they crow to help with the Goodworths' son's
science diorama. They actually monitored the turkey house instead, and
from this a steady base of humor is derived.

Others -
Chris Dupree - Interstate 8 has a date for Road Trip, it is November
6th. Interstate 8 is the women's acapella group on campus, and Road
Trip will be a large festival comprised of many other acapella groups,
all performing in Riley Commons.
Jake/Dean - In New York City on November 27th, TNT will be auditioning
for a new reality TV Show called "Who Will Be a Star?". The prize is
$50,000, a publicist, an apartment in Hollywood, and acting classes.
Dean recommends giving your worst audition, as they will probably take
the worst people for the first episode. You should use a TNT Classic
Movie as your audition piece.

See you...tomorrow! In the Green Room, at 5, like normal.

Eric Mill

New Voices 23 - CHECK!

Susan -
Opportunities are emerging in the coming years. Negotiations have been
in the works with Patrick Quinn, and as of last Tuesday she is
postponing her sabbatic leave. As such, she will be here for this
coming C and D term. The current dramaturgy structure of New Voices 23
will remain in place, though Susan will be taking part in New Voices 23
in a different role. Keep your eyes and ears open for further
developments.

Death of a Salesman -
Most production positions are fixed now, but there are a couple gaps
left, so email spavis@wpi.edu if you are interested.
Auditions are the 28th and 29th of September, at 5-7 and 6-9
respectively. There will now be an Audition Workshop on the 27th at
6:30 pm to learn how auditions work here at Masque.
And hey, do you have a poster design idea for Death of a Salesman? We
are taking ideas. The suggested theme is black and white, but if you
have a cornucopia of cataclysmic color you need to express, we'll
consider it as well.

MW Rep -
Tech weekend is going on...now! Hop down to Riley Commons to help work
on building Ten Little Indians from the ground up. And if you're
interested in ushering for the show, email kdriscol@wpi.edu. The show
will be thr 23rd, 24th, and 25th of September at 8 pm.

SCP -
Guerilla Improv - They had a show at 8pm on Friday, and it was
audiencetacular. Good showing and a fine performance, great start for
the new year.
Kilroy - We are still constructing a show from the depths of our souls.
We have a ton of new people, so expect a lot of life and intensity
from our show coming at the last weekend of the term.
Empty Set - Two more open rehearsals will be occurring this upcoming
Tuesday and Thursday from 7pm-9pm, on September 21st and 23rd.

Alpha Psi Omega -
There was an important meeting following the Masque meeting, and there
will be another next week.

Susan -
A smooth sea never made a skilled mariner.
          -- Old English Proverb

Trivia -
Anthony Scanzani quickly identified the publisher of the Campus
Planner, the Student Life office, and so he received a special Money
Bank that will take the coins you offer it with a moving hand. Elliot
Field also received some kite string.

AJ -
AJ went to Maine to see Wizzo, and through a series of misadventures
and hijinks orchestrated a plan to dupe a diner into believing they
had received only dirty plates and no food. Thus they would not pay.
Thus begins AJ's descent into organized crime and reefer madness.

Love -
   I feel like -

   you went away with
   things between us,
   two things actually.

Others -
Dean - Sunday is International Talk Like a Pirate Day, put on by the
International Talk Like a Pirate Foundation.

See you next week for more of me recording your speech and actions.

Secretariat,
Eric Mill

09.10.2004 Meeting Minutes

Death of a Salesman -
Still looking to fill production positions, but it's nearing the final
stages, so if you're interested email spavis@wpi.edu soon.
Auditions will be the 28th and 29th of September. On the 28th, it will
be from 5-7, and on the 29th it will be from 6-9.

Student Comedy Productions -
Kilroy is still probably working on their show for sometime at the end
of this term, and we've presumably cast people and are you know, making
a show. Keep an eye or so out for it.
Guerilla Improv has taken in 3 new members this year, and they are!:
       Kyle Kappmeyer
       Edmund "EJ" Massa
       Eric Mill
GI is having a show this upcoming Friday, and keep an eye out for the new
members...in 3 or 4 months.
Empty Set will be holding open rehearsals this Thursday from 7-9 in
Kinicutt Hall. If you're interested in writing and performing sketch
comedy in the style of Second City, come try out for the newest sketch
comedy troupe on campus.

New Voices 23 -
This year, New Voices will be honoring Dean O'Donnell's tremendous
service to the festival and his stature here as a full time professor
of theater, and making him New Voices' Playwright in Residence. This
is to say, that New Voices will feature a play by Dean O'Donnell every
year that he writes one for it, without putting it through the
submission and judging process. Any plays beyond the first submitted
will go through this process. Well deserved recognition for Dean
O'Donnell.

Anti Hazing Policy -
Don't haze people. We're not f-ing around. And we have 2 pages of
legalese to prove it.

Trivia -
This week's speed trivia was a mathematical word problem based on facts
about Dreams Abridged. The winner was Hisham Al-beik, who received a
balloon powered boat to share his bath, or local storm drain, or the
pool of tears his future wife makes when he leaves her to focus on
oceanography.

I'll see you this Friday...in the future!!
