Humanities is our English/ Social Studies class. We learn about the different cultures of civilizations. Earlier this year, we wrote an essay on the Iliad by Homer. We have also read several plays in class: "The Women of Troy" and "The Aeneid". I enjoy this class because we have to think about difficult subjects. For example, why do certain civilizations thrive while others fall?

Here is an example of an outline of Chapter 4. For our outlines, we use the key terms at the end of the chapter in order to write a summary of those topics.

We read Shakespeare's "Richard III" during C Term. I love Shakespeare and I greatly enjoyed reading this play. I wrote an essay discussing the use of conscience throughout the play.

During D Term, we discussed the use of satire and its evolution throughout history. Here is my essay on satire's effect on society.

To end the year, we read Stephen Crane's "Maggie: a Girl of the Streets." I wrote about the methods of refuge and escape used by the characters. I am very proud of my work on this paper.
