Up until February, everyone completes an indivudal research project for Stream A. These projects will be part of a school science fair, and many students move on to regional, state, and international levels.
My project involves nitrogen pollution in estuaries (water and marshes near the ocean), which can eventually cause the entire ecosystem of a water body to die. I compared models which calculate nitrogen loads. Here is my final paper, titled Determining Nitrogen Pollution Loads and Comparing Nitrogen Models for Estuaries in Southern Massachusetts.
