Mr. Barys teaches a class called Mathematical Modeling here at Massacademy. Mr. Barys drives a red/red-orange Smart car. He also has an earring and wears birks and he is known to throw them at people. It is basically a precalculus course, except that the teacher expect us to learn a lot more independently and more technology. We often use the programs Mathematica and Geometry Sketch Pad that can produce and compute really complex things like the graphic to the left of the smart car. Learning how to use these programs has definitely been beneficial, and even though several people hated/hate Mathematica everyone still admits that it is a very useful and powerful source.
