Our research is funded in part by a Whitaker Foundation Biomechanical Engineering Research Grant entitled:  "Mechanically-guided wound healing to promote dermal regeneration."

Also by a four-year Scientist Development Grant from the American Heart Association, National Affiliate, entitled:  “Mechanical Activation of Valvular Interstitial Cell Phenotype."

Dr. Billiar is co-PI on an NSF RET grant entitled: RET Site: Inquiry-based Bioengineering Research and Design Experiences for Middle-School Teachers. (Terri Camesano, PI)

Dr. Billiar is a collaborator on an NSF REU grant entitled: Integrated Bioengineering Research, Education, and Outreach Experiences for Females and Underrepresented Minorities at WPI. (Terri Camesano, PI)

Funding also includes a Johnson & Johnson Wound Management/University of Massachusetts Medical School Department of Surgery Grant and a WPI Research Advancement Program Grant.
