3. Iraq War Awareness & Action Week
Mar 14 thru Mar 20
********
March 19, 2003 is the day the bombs dropped on Iraq. Local Worcester groups want to plan awareness events and actions around this time. We'll talk to Peaceworks folks tomorrow at the potluck about plans. Here's what we at WPI have talked about so far:
Tues, Mar 14 - Film About the Iraq War (We need recommendations!)
Thu or Fri, Mar 16 or 17 - Memorial for the dead American Soldiers on the Quad (wooden crosses and stuff)
Sat or Sun Mar 18 or 19 - Sign and banner making party
Mon, Mar 20 - Student march and rally downtown - work with Peaceworks and
WoGAN
Tabling, leafleting and postering throughout the week.

4. Consulta update
********
The Worcester Consulta is a project of WoGAN and community groups that will try to bring together many student and community groups to focus for a day on local and global struggles. Briana will be going to the Worcester Consulta planning meeting next week to represent Justice and will report back to us at the next meeting. If you want to get involved in planning the consulta, contact Briana: broy@clarku.edu.

5. Skillshares
********
Tentative D-Term Schedule:
Wed, Mar 22 - Affirmative Action Discussion featuring Calvin Hill, Director of Minority Affairs at WPI - Drew, Jeff and Tim
Wed, Mar 29 - How to Sew Reusable Menstrual Pads and An Overview of Keepers (a Women's History Month event) - Allison, Briana & Chloe
Wed, Apr 5 - Busted! - Know Your Rights Workshop - Tim & Drew
Wed, Apr 12 - Biodiesel Skillshare - Motorsports Club and Alex Dismore (CJ & Tom too)
Wed, Apr 19 - Design Your Own Clothes - Stenciling and Screen Printing - Briana and Rickshaw
Wed, Apr 26 - Bike Repair - CJ and Ian (Ian, CJ volunteered you)
Wed, May 3 - Vegan Cooking - Allison, Cody and Drew
We have 5 skillshares and 4 good spots. We do have enough Wed's to do them all, but May 3 is the second-to-last day of classes for the year... The schedule I threw together above isn't meant to give vegan cooking the short end of the stick, but since we're going to try to work with Chartwells we'll probably have to be flexible with the date for it. We can talk more about the schedule for D-Term at our next meeting.
Also, if you could write up a short description of your skillshare and send it to me, I can make sure it gets publicized.

6. No Sweat update

Members of Justice are working on getting more non-sweatshop goods at WPI. They're talking to Sunny from SGA to see if it's something that SGA could help with. Lot's of info has been gathered the No Sweat workgroup will soon be publishing a leaflet and a cost-benefit analysis for the student store and the SGA. Weekly info-sessions will be popping up during D-Term to help raise awareness and get support from the student body.
