Hello, I'm Jeff, and this is my personal page. As I have previously stated, I attend Mass Academy in Worcester, MA and my sending school is: Shepherd Hill Regional High School. I don’t know as much programming as many of the other students at the academy; however I have taken an interest in it. However, by coming here, I was not expected to have a complete understanding of the subject, but a desire to learn it, as some of my peers also intend to do. I find the subjects at Mass Academy rather intense, and the homework to be highly time-consuming. More importantly, I have made friends here at Mass Academy and we plan on helping each other making it through this year.
I have many hobbies and interests outside of school (for what little time we, as the students, have). I have (somewhat) taught myself how to play the keyboard, by memorizing the names of keys. My left hand lacks the coordination to play chords though. I have never taken lessons, but I have learned from some of my friends. Aside from playing the keyboard (I was never very interested in music), I also play several video games. I find it interesting that many of the other students at the academy are also avid video gamers. I mostly play games on the PC such as the “Battlefield” series and various strategy games. I am also a “Star Wars” fan, again like many of the students at Mass Academy, who occasionally make a reference to it, here and there. These are just a few of my main hobbies.I am also very fond of my pets: 2 dogs and a cat. Though I was never particularly interested in animals or nature in any way, I spend a great deal of time with my pets. Emily is my black lab, who is somewhat vicious around other people. Near the family, she constantly wants someone to be touching her or be in human contact at all times. She isn’t very intelligent, and tends to be a couch potato (sits on a bed or couch, curls up in a ball and sleeps), like most labs. Sammy is my cat, who I received from a friend. Unlike other cats, he is often overweight and is far more sociable around people. Finally, the newest addition to my family is Nanook, a Siberian Husky. Many other people call her a “pretty dog,” or a “snow dog.” She came from a family who raced huskies, but she was too young at the time to actually participate. She is very friendly around other people, however at home she is extremely territorial and takes the role of “alpha dog.” Most of my friends tend to give her the most attention, and she enjoys it to the fullest extent.
Although many of the teachers (around the world, not just at Mass Academy) are against it, I still like to use Wikipedia for information. There are vast amounts of perfectly valid knowledge on Wikipedia. Most teachers discourage using it as a source, as it could be changed by anyone, yet counterarguments show that is changed back immediately. However, those wishing to enlighten themselves please travel to the insightful Wikipedia!
