The WPI IIE Student Chapter became officially recognized by the Institute of Industrial Engineers professional society in September 2008. This came after a dedicated group of WPI students formed together in the spring of 2008 to develop a constitution and bylaws (the current versions of which you can find below) and to complete certain requirements necessary for recognition. Worcester Polytechnic Institute officially recognized the WPI IIE Student Chapter in April 2009.
